IHME is developing and advancing methods for quantifying the levels of mortality by age and sex for every country in the world, by improving upon past methods and developing new tools for analyzing missing, incomplete, and biased data. Researchers are also developing new analytic tools to that redistribute deaths that were mistakenly assigned to non-fatal diseases or symptoms – not to the actual underlying causes.
