Global WACh and the Program for Education and Research in Latin American (PERLA) are pleased to announce a call for abstracts regarding woman, child, and adolescent health research, service, training projects and programs.  Select abstracts will be invited to deliver poster or oral presentations at the Global WACh and PERLA Symposium: “Global Health for Women, Children and Adolescents: Making a Difference Across the Lifespan” on Thursday, November 7th, 2013. The Symposium will be in conjunction with the WGHA Discovery Series lecture featuring Dr. Ana Langer and will take place in the HUB, North Ballroom.  

Deadline for abstract submissions is October 17th, 2013.

The Global Center for Intergrated Health of Women, Adolescents and Childrent (Global WACh) at the University of Washington aims to have global breadth, and is unique in its lifecycle lens approach to the integration of woman, child, and adolescent health, and its focus on supporting discovery, leadership, and collaboration. Through collaboration, we aim to foster new areas of research, create innovative solutions, and develop leaders who have the benefit of a multidisciplinary approach.

Program in Education and Research in Latin America (PERLA), led by Joe Zunt, MD, MPH and Dilys Walker, MD, promotes interdisciplinary training exchange and research projects in infectious and chronic diseases, maternal and reproductive health. Our current collaborating institutions are located throughout Peru and Mexico and we are expanding to include other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
